Riverton Memorial Hospital is a 70-bed acute care facility that is committed to providing excellent patient care, supporting its physicians, creating an excellent workplace for its employees, providing community value, and fiscal responsibility.  Riverton Memorial Hospital is fully accredited by the Joint Commision of Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO) and licensed by the Wyoming Department of Health.

Riverton Memorial Hospital's medical services and caring staff work together to provide patients with a completely coordinated continum of care, from acute and sub-acute inpatient medical services to outpatient services and programs, including a 24-hour physician-staffed emergency room, intensive care unit, physical therapy and sleep study lab.  Riverton Memorial Hospital as some of the finest imaging equipment in the state, with a helical CT-Scanner, MRI, Nuclear Medicine, Sequoia Ultrasound equipment. Scintamammography is the latest addition to the imaging services offered.

There are presently over 50 physician members (active, courtesy, and consulting) of the Medical Staff representing such specialty services as urology, orthopedics, otolaryngology (ENT) and general surgery.  The newest addition is Bariatric Surgery, offering Gastric Roux-en-Y and Lap BandTM procedures with comprehensive pre and post surgery management. Physicians continue to enjoy a traditional fee for service market as geography, population, and employment disparity have made most of Wyoming unattractive to managed care companies.

Lander Valley Medical Center opened in its present location in 1983.  It is a progressive medical facility catering to a sophisticated market.  Many factors contribute to making Lander Valley Medical Center stand out among other similar-sized hospitals: a dedicated staff that serves a number of specialized units including a full time Level II emergency room, Level II nursery and behavioral health program; state of the art medical equipment such as a Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) unit and a Stereotactic Breast Biopsy unit; and a remoakable number of physician specialists including neurologists, otohinolarygologists (ENT's), and ophthalmologists.  The 81 bed facility is part of Life Point Hospitals, Inc., a nationwide provider of healthcare services.  The hospital is fully accredited by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations, is licensed by the state of Wyoming, and is approved for the acceptance of Medicare patients.

Lander Valley Medical Center is the first hospital in the state to be approved as a provider under the Wyoming Breast and Cervical Cancer Early Detection Program.  This program allows persons who would ordinarily not have access to screening and diagnostic testing the opportunity to take advantage of these services at little or no cost.

In a national survery of 1,600 hospitals, Lander Valley Medical Center (LVMC) scored in the 90th percentile in patient care, an extraordinarily high score.
